Our Mission:

EMPOWER students to unlock their full potential through high quality art education, community building and experiential learning

Art Camp 504 is a student-run art studio, offering year round workshops for passionate young artists. We enable students to lead their own creative journey through choice and exploration, guided by professional artists. Our curriculum emphasizes experiential art forms, leadership training and production skills.

Programs include Summer Camp, Holiday Breaks, After School and Virtual Classes. We serve ages 7-14 at our partner venue: the Tigermen Den in the Bywater. We also offer weekly D&D campaigns at a variety of coffee shops in New Orleans.

OUR VALUES:

We are a diverse and inclusive community, welcoming all pronouns, races, cultures, genders, and religious affiliations. We encourage students to express themselves as unique individuals and take pride in their identities. We are a supportive, engaged community where all are welcome!

Art Camp 504 is a 501(c)3 Non Profit serving the New Orleans area. We offer financial aid scholarships and sliding scale tuition.

Our IMPACT

Founded in 2016, Art Camp 504 has expanded from a small, four-week summer camp to a year-round program that offers both in-person and virtual classes. Our 501(c)3 non-profit organization is committed to accessibility, and we are proud to provide scholarships each year to students of all income levels, thanks to grants and our partnerships.

Additionally, Art Camp 504 has become a reliable source of financial support for working artists in New Orleans. We are committed to making Art Camp 504 a sustainable support system for our local artists and culture bearers.

  • Our Partner Venue: The Tigermen Den

The Tigermen Den has the perfect blend of mysteries, comfort, marvel and functionality - creating a welcoming space that the kids are excited to return to day after day. With Clouet Gardens across the street, Marky Park a few blocks down, and Stalling Community Pool a short trip away, this location sets the stage for a camp that flows and is fun for all. The Tigermen Den supports our young artists by holding scholarship fundraising events year round.

Built in the 1830s, the Tigermen Den is an inspiring preservation of a Creole dry goods corner store. The building had last been commercially used from 1964 to 1992 as ‘Ms Turner’s Soul Food Restaurant’ - $2.50 lunch plates were served to dock workers stationed a few blocks away on the Mississippi River. Between 1992 and 2010 the building had layers added and removed but never opened for business. In 2011 an all female local band ‘The Tigermen’ moved into the apartment upstairs and rehearsed downstairs. The band referred to the building as The Tigermen Den and the goal of becoming a community arts and events space was ignited. The barge board that was used to build the walls was taken from 300+ years old trees and was originally used as boat bottoms and to build homes all over the Bywater. Today, the Tigermen Den is used as a space to gather and to celebrate life and all its amazing journeys.

Booking a Private Event at the Tigermen Den supports our young artists.
