ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Family Music Class, presented by Blue House Music and Art Camp 504, is an immersive music experience for infants, toddlers, and Pre-K children and their caregivers.
Through singing, movement, dancing, and instrument play, children build skills across key developmental areas while caregivers gain playful, meaningful tools for connecting and communicating with their little ones.
Each class is one hour long:
15 minutes: Free instrument play
30 minutes: Live music, singing, and dancing
15 minutes: Free play and making new friends!

MEET THE INSTRUCTORS
CHRISTOPHER “MR. CHRIS” SHEARD (he/him) is a music teacher and teaching artist with over 15 years in the field of early childhood music. He has been certified in Music Together, Wolf Trap Early Learning Through the Arts and the Young Audiences National Teaching Artist Credential. He is the founder of Blue House Music, a direct-to-family early learning music program that serves children under five and their caregivers. A Bywater resident and father of two, Mr. Chris currently works as the lower school music teacher at The McGehee School for Girls and Little Gate.
SOFIA MOCK (she/her) is a New Orleans based singer-songwriter with the gentlest touch on the scene today. In the company of Texan classical and folk musicians from infancy, Mock inherited a clarinet from her mom and a guitar from her dad. With a band that features nylon-string guitar, cello, and upright bass, Mock’s arrangements weave together her classical background and inspiration from traditional jazz. Her years of experience as a NOLA public school teacher bloom into her compassionate and direct lyrics. We are all better off when Sofia Mock sits down and tells us a story.

Fine motor skills through finger plays and instrument exploration

Musical thinking through instrument play, patterns, rhythm, and starting and stopping
