Our young authors and illustrators wrote original stories, scripts, and poems, then learned to sew and bind their very own books 📚 Each camper designed a unique cover using digital media and collage — and we wrapped it all up with a book reading celebration! Now enrolling! 🌟 TUESDAYS, Sketch Squad: Drawing Beyond the Line | Ages 8 - 11 | 5:00 - 7:00pm | June 10 - 24 ⁠ ⁠ This introductory class is designed for young artists that want to explore and build their technical drawing skills. The curriculum explores fine art techniques such as line work, perspective, shading, and composition. Students will develop their observational skills and artistic vocabulary, from line and form to understanding light, shadow and color theory. We explore a variety of mediums including graphite, charcoal, oil pastels, watercolor paint and ink. Seeking volunteers for our very first official Stardust Krewe Den Day! Here’s everything you need to know to join the fun: * DATE: Saturday, May 17 * TIME: 10:00am - 5:00pm (come for a few hours or the whole time!) * ADDRESS: @the_tigermen_den, 3113 Royal St 🌠 HOW DO I JOIN THE STARDUST KREWE? * We are a community-powered Nola Krewe open to everyone! You don’t need to be enrolled in Art Camp 504 classes to join—just bring your creativity and helping hands. * Our Krewe includes families, neighbors, artists, builders, and dreamers—united by a love of BIG art and the mission to inspire the next generation of creators. 🎨 ABOUT DEN DAYS * Den Days are our monthly community volunteer events where folks of all ages come together to help build large-scale art installations. * Join us to learn new skills, share your ideas, make new friends, be part of a creative, supportive community 🚀 THIS WEEK’S MISSION * Help move Stardust Spaceship INSIDE the Tigermen Den for Summer Camp! * Tasks include: Helping build set walls for the side panels, hanging planets and rockets in the hallway, hanging nebulae in the hallway, removing mylar and re-hanging in Quiet Room, hanging frames in main room * We will be using staple guns, ladders, ceiling hooks, hanging tools. We have all tools needed on site 🌟  KIDS ARE WELCOME  * While most tasks this week are geared toward adults, kids joining with a parent or guardian can still get involved in creative ways! * Projects for young helpers include: Making nebulas, decorating signs, creating summer camp decor * We’ll have adults to introduce these activities, but for this Den Day, kids should be able to work independently. Seeking Art Camp 504 family to adopt two Japanese Chins! 🐶🐶 Meet Bonnie & Clyde - they are three years old, super sweet, love kids, and are looking for a new home. They have been living with Irene’s uncle (mom of Pop Tart and Remi), who is no longer able to care for them. We are hoping to find a family that will drop them at Art Camp 504 periodically when camp is in session (the kids LOVE them). We also want to keep them in the family - help arrange play dates with our other chins. They get very bored when camp is not in session and enjoy seeing their friends! They love being picked up and carried around, and enjoy lots of attention. They get along well with other dogs. The ideal family will have a fenced in yard for easy potty access. They are healthy, have all their shots and papers, and are well socialized. Adoption fee is $200 per chin ($400 total). Message if you are interested in adopting them!
