Tigermen, June 24 - 28: Mural Painting

225.00

Ages 5 - 14

Students will receive background information and inspiration from the history of murals and public art as well as contemporary examples, and conceptualize their own meaningful mural based on the interests of the unique group.   They will learn painting techniques, basic color theory and principles of design, and how to consider factors like location, audience, and budget when designing a large scale public work of art. They will translate their own original designs and sketches into a complete collaborative mural that will be installed in Clouet Garden. Through the creation of a community mural we will support, teach and encourage life skills such as goal setting, decision making, and teamwork that the student will integrate into their lives.   We will provide a safe and inclusive space where students can explore visual art and express their creativity through the use of drawing, color, and painting. Workshop includes a field trip to Studio Be, where campers will have a guided tour of the art and murals. Join us Friday for our Mural Reveal Garden Party!
