It’s never too early to start creating your Mardi Gras costume! In this three day, hands on workshop, campers will design and build their own unique mask and/or headpiece. Day one campers work on color, texture and shape while exploring the art supplies and drawing their sketches. Campers then choose a re-purposed “base” to work from, or create their own base using craft foam, wire, or paper mache. The next two days are for building the structure and embellishing. We encourage campers to use recycled materials, old costume pieces, and unordinary objects to create wild shapes and structures. Each camper will receive battery powered LED lights to incorporate into their costume - very important for lighting up the parade route. Campers then use paint, gems, fabric, tinsel, pipe cleaners, tulle, feathers, foam, flowers, and more to decorate the mask and/or headpiece of their dreams!

Workshop ends with a Costume Party for family and friends on Wednesday, 3-4pm.
